Kathy Ward

Katherine "Kathy" Gail Ward, 73 years of age, of Peebles, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Cincinnati. Kathy was born on June 4, 1952, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of the late Jerome and Elizabeth (Bissett) Taylor. Kathy worked as a cleaner for businesses. Kathy is survived by her son, Austin (Emma) Ward, of Vandalia; and her daughters, Wendy (Joe) Porter, of Houston, Texas; and Kelly (Dewayne) Barton, of Milford. She also leaves her brothers, Jody (Andy) Taylor; of Mazatlán Sinaloa, Mexico; Weslyn (Addie) Taylor, of Maine; and Jerry (Jeryl) Taylor, of Freemont, California; and her sister, Karen Taylor, of Maine; along with several nieces and nephews. Kathy will be missed by her five grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Ben Porter; Lauren Porter, Theodore Ward, and Oliver Ward. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Craig Donald Scholl; her brother, Rodney Taylor; and her sisters, Millie Taylor and Janis Chapman. Kathy's family and friends are invited to attend her celebration of life on, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the Grassy Fork Haven, in Peebles, Ohio from 5:00pm til 8:00pm. Details include the following: 5pm- Welcome and Opening Remarks 5:15pm- 7:00pm- Reception and Social Time with food and drink (backyard cookout style...just like Mom would have liked!). Family and Friends can share stories and fond memories, comfort one another and celebrate our Mother's beautiful life together. 7:00pm - 7:30pm - Eulogy and Readings from Kathy's children 7:30pm - 8:00pm - Guest Tributes and Remembrance. Extended family and friends are encouraged to share their own memories, funny anecdotes, stories about how Kathy impacted your lives, or simply the things you will miss most. 8:00pm - Closing and Final Thoughts Theme: Come As You Are....Our Mother's number one wish, in honoring her, was that she did not want anything traditional. She wanted this to be a true celebration and for everyone to be laughing and creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness. Attire: In honoring the theme, we ask that family and friends dress informal. Mom would love to see everyone arrive wearing whatever is most comfortable to you. Flip flops are highly encouraged!! Food and Drink: Potluck style! We will be grilling and serving a variety of meats and some of Moms favorite sides. Guests are also invited to bring a potluck dish to share (plan for a headcount of 25-30). There is a full kitchen on premises. Water and Lemonade (the only thing you ever seen Kathy drink other than coffee) will be provided.
