Brian “Sloo” Monroe, 46 years, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center, in Seaman, Ohio.
Sloo was born in West Union, Ohio, on April 24, 1973, the son of Kenneth and the late Virginia “Ginny” (Dunham) Monroe. Sloo worked as a concrete mixer truck driver, and he served as a volunteer firefighter for the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Sloo is survived by his father, Kenneth “Skip” Monroe, of Peebles; and his sister, Tina (Joe) Rigdon, of Manchester. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 6, 2019, at the Franklin Township Fire Station, in Locust Grove. The ceremony will be officiated by Tim Parker. Burial will follow at the Wamsley Cemetery, in Wamsley.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday evening, May 5, 2019, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Sloo’s name to the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, in Care of Ronnie Anderson, Township Trustee, 27405 State Route 41, Peebles, Ohio 45660.

Skip & Tina, I will always remember how sweet Brian was and how he liked to tease. A first responder takes a certain kind of special person and Brian sure was that. He is in the presence of God basking in the glow of His love. Peace be with you, Brian.??
