Dan Ferguson

Daniel Lee Ferguson, 47 years of age, of Hillsboro, Ohio, departed his earthly home on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, at Locust Grove Faith Community Church. Daniel, better known as Dan, was born on December 5th, 1976, in West Union, Ohio to the late Frank and Martha (Williams) Ferguson. Though he last resided in Hillsboro, Daniel spent the majority of his life on Ferguson Road in Seaman. Daniel began his career early in information technology and started his own business, DAK Technologies. He joined the First State Bank team in 2006, helping foster the growth from 5 local branches to 17 locations spanning Ohio and Kentucky. Daniel served as IT Manager, Assistant Vice President, and most recently as Chief Information Officer/Vice President. Daniel was a servant in the truest form of the word. Through the years he served his community as President of the Adams County Chamber of Commerce and Vice President of Leadership Adams. He served God and his church as a Sunday School teacher, worship leader, minister and member of Locust Grove Faith Community Church. In service of the Gideon's International Ministry, he spread the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Spare time activities found him to be a carpenter, craftsman, amateur geologist, self-proclaimed jeweler, and all-around Mr. Fix-It. And in his most cherished role, he served as a devoted and loving husband and father. On August 7, 1999, Daniel married the love of his life, Amber (Knauff) Ferguson of Peebles. They have two children, Kaylee Brooke Ferguson and Brett Michael Ferguson. In addition to his wife and children, Daniel is survived by his brother Joseph (Kristin) Ferguson and their children Alyssa and Robie of Williamsburg, mother- and father-in-law Mike and Anita Conaway of Peebles, sister-in-law Sierra (Jordan) Scott of Tennessee, brother-in-law Jesse (Morgan) Conaway of Peebles, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, coworkers, and friends. In Heaven, now resting in his arms are a son, Jacob Wyatt, and 3 other angel babies. Daniel's last words were used to spread the message of salvation and the love of Jesus Christ. Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Locust Grove Faith Community Church in Peebles, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am, at the Locust Grove Faith Community Church, in Peebles. Gary Brown will officiate the service. The burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery, in Peebles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Dan's memory to Gideons International.
